Generally I would expect Dolphin to play sound at the same frame rate the game requires, but emulating a Gamecube emulating an N64 is bound to be tricky. Its weird because i watched severelas videos on youtube and seem ver stable. I'm not sure if Vexx have problem itself despite any emulator. Also, Im using a widescreen patch but still dropping fps even without it. Is there an option of some sort that can force Dolphin to attempt to play sounds at a certain frame rate? The best emulator so far is the dolphin mmjr2 but still has drops even with 1x resolution and using both backends (Vulkan or OpenGL). Therefore, at 20 fps the music is slow and crackles, while at 60 fps it plays fine but the game runs at 3x speed. The reason became apparent by loading a save state of Ocarina of Time running while at 60 fps: Dolphin is attempting to play Ocarina of Time's music at a pace of 60 fps, but the game needs to be limited to 20 fps to be playable. The audio crackles, especially when it comes to music. Therefore, there is some framerate incongruence, especially concerning audio. Limiting Dolphin to 20 slows down the menu, but Ocarina of Time runs at normal speed. Allowing the game to run at 60 lets the menu work as expected, but does not allow Ocarina of Time to load. However, Dolphin prefers to run at 60 fps. Have you searched the issue tracker for a similar issue?Īs an N64 game, Ocarina of Time runs at 20 fps.
